OLEA was co-founded in 2017 by two entrepreneurs, Olivier Dubois and Olivier Canuel with combined experience of more than 30 years in insurance brokering in Africa.
OLEA began operations in three countries: Côte d'Ivoire, Benin and Cameroon. Five years later, OLEA expanded to 25 countries and established strong ties with 14 partners across North, West, Central, East and Southern Africa. This network is unique in Africa because of its geographical coverage. The brokerage has developed and expanded through a mix of buyouts of 15 brokerages and the opening of 9 greenfield subsidiaries.
OLEA is both a Latin reference to the Olive Tree, a symbol of peace as well as a derivative of the names of the two co-founders. OLEA’s full name is “OLivier Et Associés,” because it is the collective entrepreneurial spirit, supported and developed by all the Managing Directors of each subsidiary and their passionate teams. Our focus is on people serving people.
