Introduce yourself in few lines.
After completing a degree in business management, HND and Business Administration, I began my professional career in human resources and then recruitment, where I quickly climbed the ladder. I was a recruitment assistant, an international recruiter and then a sales manager, a position I held at the age of 23 with a small recruitment and sales team under my supervision.
I entered the world of insurance a few years later when I joined Gras Savoye as Marketing & Communication Development Manager.
It was a very rewarding experience, as it gave me the opportunity to deepen my sales and marketing knowledge, as well as acquiring insurance skills.
I've been passionate about dance since I was a child. I did ballet, rhythmic gymnastics and then modern jazz and hip hop at the end of my studies.
How did you join OLEA ?
I founded an HR consulting company in 2018 in which I was the co-founder and Managing Director. After the Covid period, the company's activities declined sharply.
At the same time, a sales Manager position was opened in 2022. I was contacted by Sofiane Zérouali, a former colleague at Gras Savoye and current Managing Director of OLEA Insurance Solutions Algeria. I was open to a new professional opportunity, so I accepted his offer in May 2022.
Can you share an experience where you made a decision that seemed risky, but turned out to be the right one?
After 10 months as Sales Manager, the position of Corporate Risk Manager was created within the company. Being a multitasker and always ready to learn, I accepted this new challenge, especially as I was sometimes assisting the Managing Director on the Property & Casualty (P&C) side.
Moving from the role of Sales Manager to Corporate Risk Manager (P&C) required a transition to a more technical, insurance-focused field. I needed a thorough understanding of P&C insurance products, risk management and regulations, with analytical, communication and customer relationship management skills already acquired. To date, I'm delighted with this choice, which has given me a broader view of the challenges facing the insurance industry.
Tell us an amusing childhood anecdote that says a lot about your personality.
Although I was a child, I had a strong character. It was the central element of my personality. When my parents gave tasks to my sister and brother, they did them immediately without complaint. But before acting, I always needed to understand, to gather information by asking lots of questions. In my current job, I also try to dig deep to understand our clients’ needs and concerns. Although at first glance this may seem like a waste of time, this meticulous approach to understanding before acting helps me to offer tailor-made insurance solutions, based on an in-depth knowledge of the needs of each individual and company I advise.
