Introduce yourself in few lines.
I am a seasoned insurance expert with over 8 years’ experience in providing solutions and top-notch execution of the entire insurance cycle. Technically exceptional with client relationship management and business development capabilities.
Academically, I have a BSc. In Actuarial Science and I am currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Finance & Investments.
I first worked as an Assistant Risk Consultant and then as a Business Development Manager in the health sector in multinational insurance brokerage firms before joining OLEA.
I chose health insurance specifically because the satisfaction of knowing my work makes a difference in the lives of people on a daily basis was quite appealing to me. In health insurance, the actual work begins after the placement of the policy.
In my downtime I enjoy traveling. Since 2017, I have made it a goal to visit at least one new country every year.
How did you join OLEA ?
Before joining OLEA, I had interacted briefly with the organization in my previous roles especially when placing Pan-African policies.
No organization had the same network across Africa and we had to partner with OLEA in some countries.
I had also been following the group’s expansion across the African continent especially after they entered the Kenya market in 2019. In a rather serendipitous turn of events, OLEA came calling in late 2021 just as I was looking to move into another phase of my career.
I joined OLEA Kenya in October 2021 as the Business Development Manager. My key role is to drive growth for Employee Benefits line of Insurances specifically Health, Life, Personal Accident & Worker’s Compensation.
Name 2 things you like about OLEA.
OLEA has a very transparent organizational culture and we are regularly briefed in regards to upcoming changes before they are implemented. This has gone a long way in breeding trust and loyalty in the organization.
In addition, each employee is required to come up with their own individual goals & targets with regard to their position and in line with the company’s vision. The work atmosphere has been curated to enhance cohesiveness, innovation and specifically, to improve co-ordination between all the countries we operate in. Overall, I work with a group of brilliant but boisterous colleagues!
What are the strengths of OLEA Kenya ?
Our organizational system based on adhocracy (absence of an organizational hierarchy within a team for a given mission) allows us greater flexibility when responding to client needs. This is extremely critical since we are often required to design unique bespoke solutions that respond to emerging risks. We also have closer relationships with our clients which allow us to be more proactive and anticipate their needs and exposures.
